Why Take an Intensive?
The intensives have been created by Dr. Kornegay, to allow action based steps to working on your issues faster but more intensely, so more work being done rather than spaced out over 6-8 months for 50 mins per session a week.
This is essentially great for clients that are at wits end and are on the verge of breaking up and don’t have the time to sit in therapy sessions with lingering, emotional hurt, especially if their has been infidelity. With all things to consider, healing takes time, but this is the step in the right direction to start that healing process now before its too late.
Intensives are an added bonus for newly engaged couples who want to ensure they have the right tools and techniques to navigate their relationship so that past traumas, hurts and brokenness doesn’t follow them into this new relationship. Meet your Healer and Facilitator | Dr. Sophia Kornegay
Dr. Kornegay is a Nationally Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor, providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and groups in this Group Practice, Grow Empowered, PLLC. She is the owner of Relationship Evolution Academy (Christian based), offering couples a chance to build a positive and long-lasting marriage. She is a Trauma Expert, Relationship Expert, Certified Anger Management Specialist and Certified Parenting Facilitator and Author.
During this time, she has facilitated and co-facilitated numerous groups for adults, adolescents, children, and multi-family; as well as hundreds of family and couples therapy sessions, with a high success rate of couples staying together even when divorce was on the table. She has also written a relationship workbook titled: Reigniting the Love: Understanding Key Factors to Making it Last, A practical Guide for Couples, available on amazon, which accompanies these intensives.
Dr. Kornegay has had her unfortunate struggles over the years before embarking into the mental health field, so she understands what it means to have to push through pain, near death experiences and other traumas. But having those experiences has equipped her with the nature to be resilient and now is embarking on a journey to help individuals and couples' strive in their relationships, with self and with their partners.

Couples Re-ignite the Love Wknd Intensive
While on a 3 days, 2 nights weekend get away, this program is a 9 hour Intense guided session, where we discuss the issues affecting the relationship (occurs before the weekend in a 30 min call). During the Weekend you will learn effective skills to declutter and start a clean slate on a Strong Foundation. Discussing emotional hurt and trauma from the hurt, using EMDR with both couples to effectively manage emotional stress and move past this stuck phase. Relationship Evolution in 7 weeks, Intensive Course
This course dives deeper into the Pre Marital course topics and builds on that to ensure you are able to have more time to practice each skill. What is EMDR?

This allows couples to move into forgiveness in a healthy and managed manner, empowering a new found and deeper connection to reignite and strike a passion to love one another on a deeper level.
